2018-2019 PTA Executive Board

Sara Weiers, President
Sara Weiers served on the Executive Board this year as the VP of Staff Support and President-Elect.  She has served on the Executive Board for three years, two years as VP of Staff Support and one year as Secretary. She served as a room parent this year in 3rd Grade. She has chaired the Office Support Committee for the last three years. In previous years, she co-chaired the Book Fair and Career Day committees.  She volunteers weekly in the office and enjoys helping out at Beginner’s Day and chaperoning class trips.  In previous years, she has volunteered for Beautification, InReach, Art Support, Media Support, Spring Art Showcase, DragonFest and Field Day.  Sara will have a 4th grader in the Fall.

Jenn Loeffler, Past President
Jenn Loeffler has served on the PTA Executive Board at Dilworth for three years as VP of Parent and Student Support, VP of Fundraising, and as President for the 2017-2018 school year. Jenn has co-chaired New Families, Mother/Son Bowling, and Career Day. She has also served as the co-chair of Outreach Committee, a weekly classroom volunteer, and a room parent for four years. Jenn chairs the Board at her youngest child’s preschool. Jenn will have a fourth grader and a second grader in the Fall, as well as, one future Dragon still in preschool.

Sarah Hiccox, Secretary
Sarah Hiccox is in her first year at the Sedgefield campus.  This year she served on the PTA as the Volunteer Committee Chair.  She has also served on the School Leadership Team (SLT) and on the Community Task Force Student Assignment Committee.  She helped in planning the book fair, fall festival, donuts for dads, holiday party, penguin patch and the family dance. She has also volunteered in the classroom.  Sarah will have two 1st graders in the Fall.

Kim Walsh, VP of Marketing & Communications, President-Elect
Kim Walsh and her family relocated to Charlotte in 2016. She served on the Executive Board this year as VP of Parent & Student Support. She has been a room parent for two years, and regularly volunteers in the classroom and at school functions. Kim previously co-chaired the Yearbook Committee.  This Fall, she will have a first, third, and fifth grader at Dilworth.

Lara Carson, VP of Fundraising
Lara Carson has been a parent and volunteer at Dilworth for the past six years. She previously served on the Executive Board for two years as Treasurer and Financial Secretary. Additionally, she has co-chaired both the Outreach Committee and Tip the Scales fundraising campaign Committee for the past two years.  Lara also enjoys volunteering in the classroom and helping out with Beginner’s Day, Book Fair, Field Day and InReach. This Fall, Lara will have a 1st grader, 5th grader, 6th grader and a junior in college.

Jennifer Rea, VP of Parent and Student Support
Jennifer Rea is enjoying her second year as a Dilworth parent.  This year she served as a Co-Chair for the Service Learning and Outreach committees.  She also served as a 1st Grade room parent and a 1st Grade representative for the Tip the Scales campaign.  She was previously an Inreach committee volunteer and has volunteered for many events including Book Fair and Field Day.  She has a daughter, Colbie, who will be a 2nd grader in the Fall.

Jennifer Saxton, VP of Staff Support
Jennifer Saxton has served on the PTA Executive board for two years, as Financial Secretary, and then, Treasurer.  Jennifer has served on a number of committees, including Spark, DragonFest and Book Fair, and has been a room parent and regular classroom volunteer for the three years she’s been a Dilworth parent.  Jennifer will have a 3rd grader and 1st grader at Dilworth in the Fall and a rising Kindergartener the following year.

Jenny Morton, Treasurer
Jenny Morton has been a parent and volunteer at Dilworth for the past four years. She is currently the Financial Secretary, as well as, the chair of the Student Recognition committee. She is also actively involved with the Green Team. In the past, Jenny has chaired the New Parents Committee and been involved with many Dilworth committees including Dragon Fest, Book Fair, Media Center, Field Day, Beginners Day, Outreach and Dilworth Open House. Jenny will have a 4th grader, a 2nd grader and a Kindergartner in the Fall.

Bill Miller, Financial Secretary
Bill Miller has been a volunteer at Dilworth Elementary for the past five years.  He has served on the Tip The Scales campaign for the past three years, chaperoned field trips, taught character education, and been a mystery reader.  But he especially enjoys tutoring an accelerated math group of awesome 1st graders.  He is the proud parent of two wonderful girls who will be in 5th grade and 2nd grade next year.
